Maybe God’s a clipper ship,
reliant on the waves and wind
to go around the Horn.
Too long it seems to take
the godly phantom crew
to calculate the stars,
to set the sails just so,
to mind barometers
and astrolabes.
Despite reports of sunken wrecks,
imagine that a clipper ship
will come to port
with help for you.
