Upcoming magazines will be organized around the following themes:

• January/February 2026: Sacred Resistance (deadline 12/17/2025)*
• March/April: Spiritual Gifts (deadline 2/01/2026)*
• May/June: Experiences of Youth (deadline 4/1/2026)*
• July/August: Fire (deadline 6/1/2026)*
• September/October: In the Light (deadline 8/1/2026)*
• November/December 2026: Right Relationship (deadline 10/1/2026)*

We accept manuscripts for online publication at any time.

Western Friend publishes manuscripts intended to be of interest to both Quaker newcomers and "seasoned Friends."

Submitted manuscripts for print publication generally fall into one of the following lengths, which correspond to the space they will occupy in the magazine:

- One Printed Page: Approximately 600 words.

- Two Printed Pages: Approximately 1,300 words.

- Three-Page Spread: Approximately 2,100 words.

Please anticipate that all submissions will be edited for brevity and clarity.

* It is possible that we will have received and accepted enough submissions to fill the print edition before this deadline arrives. However, we have a practice of publishing "supplemental" articles online to accompany our print editions.
