I Won’t Close My Eyes

pounce each golden
speck of chance you
waft my weary way
to admire every individual
iota of your true sparkling self
damn the power-hungry vocal
few champing to bite
what’s different, new, changed
demanding we cower
be the same yesterday, today

tomorrow recovery is slow
sparkles pooled by the drain
world’s smallest pride party
reminder of who requires
people scrubbed of personality
raw in the aftermath
how tragic they have closed
eyes, mind, heart
will never experience
your radiant, grounded becoming
celebrate crescent moon slivers
phase or not, tonight you are
permanent and glorious
valid, my dear
no stamps necessary
change is the best constant
sacred, you are frequently new
magic micro-adjustments craft
daily differences and I’m not shocked
because I see all of you
