As we face the devastating consequences of the current pandemic, the importance of our monthly meetings and churches to provide pastoral support and a spiritually grounded community is so welcome and vital. I am grateful and impressed by the ministry of Friends across the country to offer resources and to develop new forms of worship practice through Zoom!
I know that setting FCNL priorities for the 117th Congress (2021-2022) may not be the most important issue you or your meeting is coping with right now. But I hope you might find the time and the possibility to gather virtually to consider the world we seek and to offer your meeting's responses for FCNL’s Quaker lobbying priorities.
Our new deadline for your meeting to submit your responses is Friday, May 1, 2020.
Our Quaker Field Secretary, Christine Ashley, is supporting Friends’ virtual discernment and will guide you through a process. If your meeting or church is willing to conduct a virtual gathering for discernment, please fill out this form to schedule a time to meet with Christine.
The FCNL Policy Committee set this May 1 deadline to encourage meetings, churches and worship groups to participate in this vital discernment that helps ground our Quaker witness in Washington. I hope you will join us!
