On Sunday, July 12, 2020, about three dozen Friends gathered in an interest group – sponsored by the 2020 Annual Session of Pacific Yearly Meeting – to share our recent experiences with online Quaker meetings. We listened to observations from a panel of Friends who have been deeply immersed in organizing various online Friends’ gatherings. We then all compared our experiences of meeting in-person with our experiences of meeting online. We considered these comparisons in terms of meetings for worship, meetings for business, and care of community. Rough notes from this interest group, below, have been loosely reorganized.
