Horizon House retirement community has been on “full quarantine” for some time. We (500 residents) are not permitted outside our individual living units except to visit the trash rooms and the laundry rooms on our respective floors.
Our Quaker worship group, which has met monthly for five years and which typically draws two dozen people is therefore shut down. But we’ve found a way to be together, and it’s not Zoom. Each of us simply sits at home, in silence and reflection, recalling how it has been, to be together.
This month will be our second such “meeting.” It’s not virtual; it’s real.
