Write for Western Friend on Right Relationship

For four years, I worked as the communications director for Right Sharing of World Resources, a Quaker organization that works with women’s groups in several places around the world. One of the values that Right Sharing holds is that while it's important to give and share resources, it’s equally valuable to learn from people with less access to those resources. The dominant narrative arbitrarily connects access to money with intellect. Quakerism holds that all people are equal while acknowledging our unequal access to money, time, and a sense of agency. Living in right relationship with ourselves, our culture, the earth, and each other is an act of grace and balance.

RIGHT RELATIONSHIP (Facebook Post)

Please share with Friends in the West the ways in which you navigate the challenge of a right, balanced, or harmonious relationship. Examples could come from your personal relationships, your relationship with objects, or how you’ve observed a current or historical Friend letting their life speak.

Please consider taking a stance in your writing and don’t furnish your piece with open-ended questions. Friends often enjoy posing queries, which is beautiful in a shared space. However, the written word is not a workshop; it’s a place to show how you are thinking. If you’re working with a query, please answer it in your writing.

The extended deadline is October 12th. I'm also looking for a few people to interview on this topic, please reach out with recommendations.

Warmly,

Caitlin Gaylord Churchill
