Let’s welcome the return of Vanessa Julye to the Pacific Northwest!
Vanessa Julye comes to us from Friends General Conferenc. Her talk is entitled:
Transformation in the Religious Society of Friends depends on a shift in our narrative. We should understand and acknowledge our collective past, so we can move forward with healing the harm our White Supremist structure has caused. What collective change is necessary to activate the structural transformation necessary for an equitable Religious Society of Friends?
We start the evening with a potluck dinner out in the back yard (social distanced chairs) weather permitting.
This event is sponsored by Friends for Racial Justice. Attendance is FREE but we do need your registration to plan for childcare. Registration deadline for in-person attendance is Sunday, May 8th. Registration deadline for virtual attendance is Tuesday, May 10th. All in-person sessions will be held at the Multnomah Friends Meetinghouse, 4312 SE Stark in Portland, Oregon.
