Sister Alegria, Annette and I are greatly disappointed to share that Canada rejected Annette's visa application. The longer it took, the higher our hopes got. We were really looking forward to Annette coming to Honduras in October and integrating into life at Amigas del Señor. That dream has been delayed yet again. Annette is particularly sad at this time because she just lost a fourth family member this year. Her mother died in May, one of her brothers and a sister-in-law in August, and now an uncle. And she isn't in Haiti to be with the rest of her family. She is stuck in Jamaica, now entering the third year.

The good news is we have one more option. Our Honduran lawyer, Thomas Bennett, who is part of the Methodist Church of Honduras, is ready to apply for a "Consulted Visa" directly with the National Institute of Migration. Why have we not started on it before now? In one way, we have. Annette has already obtained the certified documents she must provide (a police report and medical certificate). But the lawyer charges $1,000 to do this, and we didn't want to spend the money if she could get a Canadian visa for only $100. Donors have already provided the necessary funds, so we are set to move on it immediately!

Please pray with us that this process works out and doesn't take too long. God willing, Annette will join us in the new year.
