The Man in the Dog Park

Dear Friends,

Cathy Small, an anthropology professor emeritus at Norther Arizona University, and Ross Moore, a homeless man she met in the dog park in Flagstaff, are premiering a short film in our local library, based on their book The Man in the Dog Park. The book is personal, thought provoking and close to home.  It made me examine my behavior, assumptions and attitude toward the homeless in new ways.  I now feel more present when interacting with those I meet even on the street corner.  We have many interactions with the homeless through our work at the Family Food Center so I thought there may be others who are interested.

I highly recommend the book.
