The Life Cycle of Quaker Meetings

This message may be of special interest to clerks, recorders, and archivists of Friends meetings and to trustees of Friends organizations.

Since summer 2021, Emily Provance (New York Yearly Meeting) has been working with a group of Friends exploring transitions and endings for Quaker meetings. They’ve produced a publication about the life cycle of Quaker meetings and a resource booklet for meetings that are nearing the end of their life cycles. Both resources are available below.

As part of this ongoing project, Emily invites Friends Everywhere to participate in any or all in series of 90-minute online consultations, from April 4 through April 24, covering ten topics. Each topic will be offered at two separate times. In each consultation, you’ll hear a presentation, then have a chance to ask questions and engage in an open conversation. Some of these consultations are designed specifically for staff members and clerks, of yearly and quarterly meetings, as well as record keepers and trustees.
