Sonora Desert Hermitage Opportunity

The Cascabel Conservation Association (CCA) Hermitage Program is seeking one or more people who would be interested in living in the Sonora Desert for 3-10 months as the accompaniment person for CCA Hermitage Program sojourners. Remote, off-grid housing and a nominal monthly stipend (400$) are provided.

Founded in 1996, the Cascabel Conservation Association (CCA) is a center for contemplation and conservation in the San Pedro valley of southeastern Arizona. CCA stewards a Sonoran Desert wild lands habitat encompassing over 600 acres, an area preserved for solo and small-group sojourns. The habitat is available to sojourners seeking solitude and a more intimate experience of the desert. Grounded in Quaker tradition, it is available to artists, writers, and contemplatives of any faith or persuasion.

The full description the accompaniment person’s role and its responsibilities and a request for expressions of interest can be found below.
