Public Debut of Olive Rush Studio

Published: March 30, 2024

Olive Rush came from an Indiana Quaker farm family. She was the first single-woman artist to settle in Santa Fe, New Mexico – in 1920.

After she died in 1966, Rush’s house on Canyon Road became the meetinghouse of Santa Fe Friends Meeting.

In 2022, a group of extended Rush family members purchased the property and formed a nonprofit the following year.

Please see the attached press release about the opening of the Olive Rush Memorial Studio and Art Center.
