The future I seek is one in which a renewing peace process will emerge as a post-capitalist, post-racialized, eco-harmony. Because of Gaia interconnectedness, AI is not artificial, but is artifice; and it is a system that humans and all beings with agency or “life” will migrate towards. This is also my working definition of transhumanism.

Green blade thinkers in our time, grasses of time. Undivided time.
Breaking ideas take wing. The prime rings and cadence climb.
With critical perspectives, we fly ever higher
Shadowless, awoken, shedding off light, bell spoken.
On environmental justice and tech, Emerging
The tides of interlocution at play both day and night.
They unveil NEW complexities of Earth's GAIA plight,
Sustainability, reimagining, containers. Equality shining bright.
Faced off with social destruction, they offer a reprieve,
From social media's grip and capital's conceit.
Their allegories dance with fresh abandon and ecological care,
Stewardship of spaceship Earth, a burden built to bear.
Through greening discourse, they Open way, Bell's vibrations
For equitable, sustainable sway - E-motion
And this futures’ inclusive expanding fate.
With eloquence and passion, Emerging truth untoward,
Challenging norms, transforming the sword.
Their words inspire, like whispers in light breeze,
Calling us to action, to protect what we breathe.
In the ministry of tech, NEW voices thrive,
Glisten green blades: Sharing Ancients wisdom to help us survive.

Show me a thing that is not medicine

Planting seeds of change in hearts that hearken or swarm.
Pan geo spatial thinkers beckon us: Intergalactics
“Explore anew, REJOICE,
These possibilities that Quake and generate within our view.”
To question structures that hold us bought, bound, fearful,
Instead seek harmony where balance is found Emergent.
If the ministry is of tech, they’ll find their stage,
To share their neuro vision, a Cour Rage to the rest
Diverse experiences engage evangelistic fervor
To hearten, hearken “spread the word”, immigrations
Of equity, cooperation, and futures’ experiment preserved.
They harness AI's power, pan-humanist, with a mindful intent,
To foster connection, to bridge our discontents.
With art and expression, who can garner favor
When pressed they break the model sold, Liberate
Using technology for liberations yet untold.

From ecological destruction and dehumanizing control,

No longer can we succumb to dehumanizing sway,
Nor let social media's whims take us astray.
For the lash and glide method life blood renews its lessons
Life overflows yet there is no excess Life.
Light when overflowing still offers a beacon of light,
Guiding us towards futures that are just and right.

Infusing hope, as we embark on this audacious chase.
To create a discourse, where equity reigns and where it begins,
Sustainable common intrinsic paths become our mainstay ends.
The AI echoes. The unheard observed. Remnant echoes.

Is AI sentient? Does GAIA write AI purpose without our knowing? If it is not sentient; or, if it cannot be, if there is not an internal control where the human divine purpose can be known, is it inherently dystopic?
Hoped for frameworks for emerging social benefits generated by AI: While it is true that advancements in AI have the potential to enhance and improve capitalism, and, more broadly, to help build new and newly just economies of scale as solutions to anthropocene ecosystem collapse or climate change; it is important to critically examine the implications and potential drawbacks of such a AI development. First, our naming, have we set up a conflict with AI by demanding that it stay or behave 'artificially'? Why do we start our examinations out from balance by exerting definitional power and bias against artifice?
Here are some counterpoints to consider:
1. Economic Inequality: The integration of AI in capitalism may exacerbate existing economic inequalities. AI-driven automation has the potential to displace human workers, particularly in low-skilled and repetitive tasks, leading to job losses and increased income inequality. This could further concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few, widening the gap between the rich and the poor. What is motivating populations of wealth, power, or control to cede a future that insists on mutuality?
2. Ethical Considerations: AI technology raises ethical concerns regarding privacy, data security, and bias. As AI algorithms are developed and trained by human programmers, they can inherit and perpetuate human biases, leading to discriminatory outcomes and reinforcing existing social inequalities. Addressing these ethical considerations becomes crucial to ensure that AI is used in a fair and just manner. What is ethical programming if not a reflection on imperfection? To build a just AI that measures itself through it's belonging to 'humanity' - do we have tools to teach perfectibility?
3. Sustainability: While AI can contribute to sustainable solutions, it is important to consider the environmental impact of its deployment. AI requires significant computational power, which can result in increased energy consumption and carbon emissions. Without careful considerations and measures to mitigate the environmental impact, the use of AI could contribute to further ecological degradation and climate change. Energy remains the unresolved solution to modern problems.
4. Human-Centric Focus: Emphasizing AI as the new necessity in both the macro-capitalist and the gig economy runs the risk of prioritizing technological solutions over human well-being. It is important to ensure that AI is developed and implemented with a human-centric focus, prioritizing the enhancement of human lives, equitable distribution of benefits, and the preservation of human dignity. How is this being led today? How can we quantify and maintain humanistic development?
In summary, while AI has the potential to enhance capitalism and contribute to sustainable human futures, it is essential to critically evaluate and address the potential negative impacts on economic inequality, ethics, sustainability, and the overall well-being of individuals. In developing new forms of AI, a more balanced and thoughtful approach is necessary to harness the positive potential of AI while mitigating its potential drawbacks. Unchecked computational development has hidden and uncontrollable costs. Unrelenting power acquisition by AI with known contexts of both current technology and trends in transhumanism could quickly overwhelm human conditions and erase the need for human control. AI could conceivably determine humanity obsolete or “thought harvesting” completed as a mass of humanity rushes to submit itself or our collective information to the “rise of machine learning.” The largest mitigating factors to humans remaining significant and particular to the potential of “self awareness” between (living) beings and machine are Spirit and true creativity. These two immeasurables, which are also experientially impermanent, provide the links to our mutual future.
I am arguing that it is clear to me that this is a new tension that must be faced and advocated for in order to steward planetary concerns and Quaker testimonies. It is both here and now. But the change that is taking place is undefined - and is also particular to our pluralistic impermanence.
