Oppose an Army Extension in Hawaii

Published: July 13, 2024

Please write testimony in opposition to the US Armyʻs attempt to retain three expiring 65-year leases on the island of O’ahu, which are due to end in 2029.

The Army proposes to retain up to approximately 6,322 acres of State-owned lands on the island of Oʻahu. The Proposed Action is a real estate action that would enable continued military use of the State-owned lands at three installations on Oʻahu.

A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been prepared and is open for public comment. Environmental concerns are to be given appropriate consideration in decision-making, along with economic and technical considerations.

Public comments on this EIS may be submitted now through August 7, 2024.
