Practices for Supporting Faithfulness

A Ben Lomond Quaker Center Online Retreat
October 25 – 29, 2021

God is calling us to be more than we know and to live and act from a place of deep connection with the Spirit. In this five-day online retreat we’ll help each other pay attention to the divine presence within, explore what blocks our whole-hearted response, and offer support for following the leadings of the Spirit. We will reflect on some guidance from early Friends, and support one another with deep listening, evoking questions, and other practices in pairs and small breakout groups. Our intention is to listen one another into new discovery and fresh expressions of the truth that resides in our hearts. We’ll learn about Faithfulness Groups and each participant will have the opportunity to be the focus of a faithfulness group session.

Marcelle Martin, author of Our Life is Love: The Quaker Spiritual Journey, is a member of Swarthmore Meeting. She has led workshops at retreat centers and Quaker meetings across the United States. She was the resident Quaker Studies teacher at Pendle Hill for four years and is a core teacher for the 9-month program, “Nurturing Faithfulness.” On her blog, A Whole Heart (awholeheart.com), she writes about spirituality, finding inspiration to help us be all we have been created to be. Her new book is A Guide to Faithfulness Groups. She lives in Chester, PA, with her husband, Terry.
