Dear Friends,
I shared with you previously (10/2/2022) a link to an interview I conducted with Pedro Sosa on September 25, 2022 at the Nobel peace prize park in Eugene Oregon. As you remember AFSC was a recipient of the Nobel peace prize in 1946.
The interview concerned AFSC’s call to support immigrants coming up from Central America and everywhere.
I am now adding to my previous message a document that contains my attempt to faithfully transcribe these remarks and call to action. I hope this could lead to concerted actions to be developed over this next several months and support the “know your rights program” of AFSC here in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana.
So now, you will find below:
from John Allcott, Eugene Friends Meeting (12/6/2022)
AFSC staffer Pedro Sosa with Emiliana Sosa and the new AFSC worker Alonzo Oliveros, at the Nobel Peace Park in Eugene, Oregon – the only Nobel Peace Park in the U.S. – at the plank memorializing the Nobel Peace Prize that was awarded to AFSC in 1947.
