Please join us in welcoming Alex (they/them), our new incoming Administrative Coordinator for Quaker Voluntary Service.
Alex (they/them) was born in Florida but grew up in Maine, in a Unitarian Universalist family who only went to church for their grandmother’s choir events. A lifetime of spiritual seeking brought them to Quakerism in 2018, where they have stayed as a haphazard attender of the Portland Friends Meeting and YAF Midweek Worship ever since. A leading to do spirit-driven environmental and social justice work and be surrounded by other people who want to change the world brought them to QVS.
Alex’s passions are collaborative storytelling, Dungeons and Dragons, dam removal projects, drinking chai, whaling history (which has way more Quakers than you’d expect!), whales in general, putting lavender in everything, and above all, their black lab named Foggy.
