Multiplication of Grief

Multiplication

With each death from COVID, behind so many barred doors,  many more lives have been shattered and have become devoid of the foundations of life as we have known it.  When the number of mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, cousins, relatives, neighbors, companions, friends, has been multiplied by each of those in their circles, it amounts to an additional unspoken national health crisis.  A nation in grief, like an echo across an empty abyss.  The feeling, understanding, resounding the same chord in so many hearts, as in Paul Robeson’s phrase of "wandering in the world like a motherless child."

"In a gentle way we can shake the world.”  – Mahatma Ghandi

Can we can commit to acts of kindness?
