Here are some responses to the passage at the end of the 1/23/2021 issue of Extra Extra Western Friend.
I love the piece about cheese. I’m not a sailor, but I do get the idea.

LOVE "Cheese on a River." Such a good reminder of how to wait well.
– Eleanor Dart, Pima Friends Meeting (1/24/2021)
The “Cheese on a River” passage came into my email yesterday on the same day as this: “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly worn out and screaming, ‘Woo hoo, what a ride!’” (Author Unknown)
– Claudette Cervinka, Davis Friends Meeting (1/24/2021)
I feel called to let you know that rather than “cheese on a river.” I would go for “bean burritos on a river.” But maybe that's the difference between those in a sailboat and those in a kayak. Possibly because I can't imagine ever having either enough disposable income or time to own a sailboat, but a kayak is within reach. Either way, cheese is bad for each one of us, for the cows and for the atmosphere.
