PROGRESA has worked for peace and social justice through education in Guatemala since 1973. More than 1400 have been served and many have made significant contributions to improving life in their communities and their country. There are 90 students currently receiving scholarships and 63% are women.

What has happened in PROGRESA and Guatemala during the pandemic? 

Come to the PROGRESA Interest Group Sunday, July 31, 2-3:30 pm to hear from Miguel Costop-Director; Hector Canto- PROGRESA alum, board member, and former Vice Minister of Education in Guatemala; and two of our current students. You will enjoy hearing how challenges were met and how based on Quaker principles PROGRESA became even more of a supportive family with our students and their families and communities.
