Friendly Water on YouTube

Published: April 10, 2020

Dear Friends,

On Friday, April 3, 2020, supporters of Friendly Water for the World (FWW), a project supported by Olympia Friends Meeting, sat around an online campfire with friends from five different countries. We shared stories about the history of FWW and where we are heading next. It was great to see so many faces and hear how everyone is doing. We will get through this strange time!

On Friday, April 9, 2020, we gathered online with our guest speaker, Ginny Stern. Ginny is a former FWW board member and a hydrogeologist. She took us to Africa and shared a new term with us – hydrophilanthropy – and explain how this practice is addressing climate change. Ginny has extensive experience working with marginalized people in Africa. As a scientist, she has a special understanding the extraordinary challenges that Africans face and the actions we can take to share hope and clean water.
