A Fight for Digital Library Rights

Last week, Internet Archive took a significant step in our ongoing fight for libraries' digital rights by submitting the final appellate reply brief in the Hachette v. Internet Archive lawsuit. This reaffirms the Archive's commitment to its mission of providing universal access to all knowledge despite legal challenges. The nearly four-year legal process reflects the struggle against publishers' license-only models, which perpetuate inequality in knowledge access. Our defense isn't just about its digital lending program but about safeguarding the digital rights of all libraries and ensuring equal access to knowledge for future generations.
