Dear Friends: I recently read the New York Times best-selling memoir Solito (2023) by Javier Zamora, during the time I was also reading Douglas Steere’s 1967 Pendle Hill Pamphlet, “On Being Present Where You Are.” A powerful connection between the two writings developed for me. I have shared my reflections about the two works with Western Friend, especially my reflections on the meaning of “presence” for Friends today. Please look in Western Friend’s online library for this dual review and my reflections.
