Dear Editor: Thank-you for including the story about abolitionist Isaac Hopper in your recent set of “Pages for All Ages” (“A Strong-Willed Friend,” Jan/Feb 2024). I look forward to reading this to my grandson soon. Like Hopper, my grandson is strong-willed and also charming. I don’t think he’s been engaging in cruel behavior, but sometimes he does get overwhelmed by emotions (like most four-year-olds). His mother and I perhaps need to be reminded of the benefits to an adult of being able, as a child, to stick up for what you believe in.
