Living Right with the Natural World
~
Dear Friends,
Reno Friends Meeting is inviting us to a zoom event they are hosting. Buest speaker, Mary Ann Percy from Quaker Earthcare Witness will be giving a mini-workshop on how Quaker values can inform our relationship to the natural world:
"Living in Right Relationship with the Living World” with Mary Ann Percy
Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022
90 minutes starting
7:00 PM Pacific = 8:00 PM Mountain
Click here to register and receive the zoom link.
The content of this workshop will be largely experiential, will also include a brief presentation, and will include opportunities for reflection and worship-sharing. The workshop will consider:
How can we not be in despair when all too often we’re hearing of another climate- related disaster, another breakdown in Earth’s and Life’s support system?
What do Friends’ Faith and Practice, and specifically our Testimonies, have to offer us for both understanding and addressing these many challenges which face us?
How may we come to live in Right Relationship with the Living World, respecting and supporting the inherent integrity of the Earth community?
Be prepared for activities such as sitting outside for about 20 minutes, although indoor options will also be available.
Mary Ann Percy carries a life-long spiritual concern for Earth and all our relations, and currently serves as an NPYM representative to Quaker Earthcare Witness (QEW). She is a trained Joanna Macy facilitator in The Work that Reconnects (WTR), offers Earthcare programs for Friends’ Meetings and groups, and is a member of Bellingham Friends Meeting (NPYM).
