Help Pay Children’s Dental Bills

The Migrant project (Bienvenidos) of the Bozeman Worship Group is serving 17 households of recent immigrants. Each of those households has from 2-4 volunteers who serve as mentors to help families acclimate and access services such as healthcare, English learning, food bank etc. Tim and Tina have been helping a Honduran family with 2 young children. The children were having pain in their mouths and we got them into the community health clinic. The news was not good. The Community Health Partners sliding scale clinic dentist referred them to a private pediatric dental clinic. They were evaluated and x-rayed a few weeks ago. The dentist laid out a plan of treatment over the next month. The estimated total cost is $3900 for the boy and 3,082 for the girl. They give a 10% discount for paying at the time of services. The family has agreed to pay half of the cost with monthly payments. The total for the other half, with the discounts, is $3,150. 

Donations to the migrant project for this need will be gratefully received. Donations should be by check payable to MGOF Monthly Meeting and sent to the Monthly Meeting’s Treasurer, Cathy Weber, at 1300 E. Bannack Street, Dillon, MT 59725. Please write “for the migrant project” or words to that effect in the check’s memo line so that the Treasurer will know the donation is intended to support the migrant project.

In 2020 MGOF Monthly Meeting adopted, as its own, the migrant project. We believe that donations made in the manner described above should qualify as charitable donations and be deductible on your income tax returns, provided that the donor has adequate documentation of his or her donation. It is the donor’s responsibility to retain documentation of his or her charitable donations. For any single donation of less than $250, a copy of the cancelled check is probably sufficient documentation. If you make a single donation of $250 or greater, please also request that the Treasurer send you a letter acknowledging your donation, this letter being required for deductibility of any single donation that is $250 pr greater.”
