Quaker poet Jim Teeters from East Hill Friends in Kent, WA, first encountered the Tao Te Ching when he was teaching in China, and one of his students gave him a copy. This began his deep engagement with the text, which resulted in this new interpretation/translation, Because of This.

The Tao Te Ching, a Chinese spiritual classic written about 400 BCE, is the second most translated work of wisdom literature in the world after the Bible.

This online event will include Jim describing his experience with the Tao Te Ching and reading sections from his book. His version organizes the content around the themes of How to Live, How to Love, and How to Lead.
