This will be a very special Fall Fellowship since it will be the first time we are back in person at Temescal Canyon. It will be blended with zoom also available.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get together with other Quakers in southern California, a very special time in a beautiful location.
We’ll take time on Friday night (Zoom only) to listen to and reflect on Vanessa Julye’s talk, “Radical Transformation: Long Overdue for the Religious Society of Friends,” which was the 2021 Stephen G. Cary Memorial Lecture at Pendle Hill. The pamphlet, “Radical Transformation” based on this lecture is available from FGC Books. How might we be transformed, and how might we transform our Worship Groups, Meetings and Quarter?

Georgia Daniels, our keynote presenter for Saturday morning’s plenary, will weave the fabric of our community by offering ways to deepen our experience with Worship Sharing. Building community requires trust, and trust is built over time. As we consider how much we trust, and whom we trust, we may also remember that hurts are part of life, and so is forgiveness. In small groups, we will engage with a short selection from Parker Palmer’s A Hidden Wholeness, with queries to follow. We may explore what Palmer calls “circles of trust.” We may recall the importance of “listening even beyond words,” as we read, listen, and share from our hearts.
