Quaker Call to Action: Meeting for Worship with Attention to Democracy
Sponsor(s):
Dear Friends,
On September 20 we were inspired and encouraged to hear from Friends about their ongoing testimony against the rising threats to our election. You may see the video here.
Our next national video call, on October 18, will be an unprogrammed Quaker meeting for worship with attention to democracy.
We have been touched by the ways in which so many of you are engaged in important and creative election protection actions. Now we believe the best additional preparation we can make together is through worship. We look to the spirit to give us inspiration and the courage to face the future grounded in the light.
We do not know what new and serious threats may arise before we gather again on October 18. We will take time at the end of the worship to discuss our response.
We hope that you can join us from 7:00 – 8:30 PM EDT on Sunday, October 18.
We are deeply grateful for the many Friends and other people of faith who are striving to help our country restore the values of truth, equality, decency and fundamental democratic principles in our country and abroad.
