Light Meditation, Dec 2020 (online)

December 06, 2020, 7:30 AM - December 06, 2020, 7:30 AM US/Pacific

~ Light Meditation:  A Practice of Early Friends For more than a year we (Flagstaff Meeting) have been holding sessions called Light Meditation on the first Sunday of the month from 8:30 until 9:45 AM.  Recently we have switched to Zoom rather than in-person sessions. The next session will be: Sunday, December 6, 2020 One hour and fifteen minutes, starting at 7:30 AM Pacific = 8:30 AM Mountain Personally, I have found these sessions valuable, both for community building and for progress on my own spiritual journey. This is a guided meditation led by a facilitator who reads prompts from the book, Light Meditation:  An Exploration in Quaker Spirituality by Rex Ambler, a Quaker scholar from the UK. There are six prompts, and each is followed by a period of silence as each in the group is invited to listen carefully on an “inward journey” with Spirit. After the end of the final prompt and silence, we take a break for about five minutes. Then we have a period of worship. Whenever your schedule permits, I heartily invite you to participate in this experiment with meditation. It may serve as good preparation for Meeting for Worship, too.   Click here to join this meeting. from Tom Martin, Flagstaff Friends Meeting (11/1/2020)
