Interdependence Gathering!

(US/Pacific)
Relay-1536x1536

We excited to be hosting an Interdependence Gathering! This event Oregon’s participation in a national relay of events celebrating and exploring how we connect with each other as we approach the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding.

What to expect at our celebration:
- A casual gathering of community members.
- A brief sing along, because singing together is more fun than singing alone!
- Pizza and seltzers for lunch (including vegetarian, and gluten-free options).
- Robust small-group discussions to create our own “declaration of interdependence” describing how we’d like to show up for our community and for others across our country
- Childcare will be available

About the Relay:
The Interdependence Relay is a Barnraisers Project supported by The Hearthland Foundation.

The Barnraisers Project works across rural and urban areas to help people move from silence to taking action in their own neighborhoods. Garrett Bucks, the founder of Barnraisers, is a Quaker writer and organizer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Hearthland Foundation focuses on building a shared democracy through community and civic participation, narrative change by telling honest and generative stories about the U.S., and creating a culture of accompaniment by supporting initiatives that connect communities and bridge divides. Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw are the founders of The Hearthland Foundation.
