Join Taylor Stewart of the Oregon Remembrance Project In an online webinar:
A free Zoom webinar with historical photo presentation,* followed by Q&A.
Live ASL Interpretation will be provided by Pro Bono ASL.
Finding Justice for Historical Injustice shows how the harmful legacy of our white supremacist history continues today. Stewart uses this powerful presentation to relate slavery, racial terror, and Jim Crow laws directly to mass incarceration, the disproportionate use of the death penalty against Black people, and other ongoing injustices. Communities everywhere can be inspired and motivated by the Oregon Remembrance Project’s work to help communities remember, repair, and redeem the brutal stories of their past. Facing our region’s racist history lays a foundation for the future we seek, for inclusive and just communities that celebrate diversity.
