Exploring Paths to Membership within the Pacific Yearly Meeting
Welcome to our online event, Exploring Paths to Membership! Whether you're new to our community or looking to deepen your involvement, this event is for you. Join us as we discuss the different ways you can become a member and what membership means to you. We are excited to hear your ideas about our long awaited online biweekly online Meeting for Worship and how you can be a part of our online and in person community. What do people need or want from membership in the yearly meeting? Here are some of the things we hear:
- A feeling of belonging.
- A feeling of having “standing” in the meeting.
- Recognition of belonging
- Ongoing community events; access to generating events and to use yearly meeting resources, like contact lists and (in appropriate cases) funding.
- Opportunities for ongoing spiritual intimacy despite changes in residence.
- Clearness committees
- Mentoring; access to elder Friends
- Access to participation in service to the yearly meeting—committees and other positions that might require meeting membership.
