The Encountering Spirit Retreat offers Friends and newcomers the opportunity to do a deep dive into a fundamental aspect of Quaker spirituality— the direct encounter with God. What can Early Friends teach us about finding Truth and feeling the principle of God? Where does this encounter happen? How do we open ourselves to the gift of direct relationship? During the retreat, you’ll hear from different folks about what is powerful in Quaker faith and practice and get to reflect on your own spiritual journey, too.
When we come together in community, we not only encounter The Light, we encounter each other. This retreat will be a deepening event, an intentional time for sharing together the experience of being in community with God and for exploring the Quaker understanding of Encounter. We expect our time together to be profound; we hope you will be moved.
