John Stanley McCracken was born April 12, 1929 and died March 31, 2020. Known as Stanley, he was born on a dairy farm in Kansas. he married Elizabeth Parker, a member of the Orange Grove Monthly Meeting in 1981. She died in January, 2000. He married Connie Arokiasamy in 2001. After their marriage, they moved to Friends House in Santa Rosa, California. In the early days, he was the gardener and groundskeeper there. They had nearly 19 happy years together at Friends House and at Mayflower Gardens in Lancaster, Calfornia where they moved to in 2017. They moved there to be near Connie's son and Stanley's nephew Walter and his wife Paula. While at Friends House he regularly attended the Friends House Worship Group. Connie and Stanley attended College Park Quarterly Meetings, Pacific Yearly Meetings and the Friends General Conference.
Stanley was active in Social Causes and the Democratic Party of Sonoma County. He was known for his willingness to contact political leaders to speak at Friends House, his resident home. He listened to everyone and was active until the morning of his passing.
Stanley was a member of the Redwood Forest Friends Meeting in Santa Rosa, California.
