One time member of Honolulu Friends Meeting, and long-time resident of the Palau Islands passed away on June 7, 2023. He attended the Honolulu Friends Meeting while studying at the East West Center and the University of Hawaii in Honolulu to get his PhD. He was a specialist in Pacific Island native plants and also helped inform and advise the Republic of Palau about policies and procedures regarding invasive Plants especially those that had potential danger to Palau. He was a farmer, scientist, teacher, and active community member. He is survived by a daughter, Charity Miles, a son, Mosang Miles and his wife, Laura Ierago Miles.
