Charles Young Glock, 99, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Charles was born Oct. 17, 1919, to Charles and Philippe Glock in Bronx, NY. He grew up and attended schools in the Bronx, received his business degree from New York University, and went on to earn his MBA from Boston University. Charles served as a Major in the Army Air Corps from 1942-46, and was awarded the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. 

Charles and Margaret Schleef were married in Sept., 1950, in Dishman, WA. He earned his PhD from Columbia University while serving on the faculty. He then worked as a Professor of Sociology for 20 years at the University of California Berkeley. 

He and Mary retired to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, for 10 years before moving to Sandpoint in 1989. He enjoyed his life in Idaho, where he met weekly with his scholar's group for over 20 years. He took great interest in kinetic motion and created many art pieces that can be viewed on YouTube. Charles was a faithful member of Sandpoint Friends Meeting.
