Marjorie Flagg was born on March 22, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, to Harry and Edith Craig Wyman. She was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Arizona State University, earning a degree in education. She joined Tucson Monthly Meeting in May of 1945 and continued her membership with Pima Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1960. In September of 1945, she married a metallurgist and mineral collector, Richard W. Flagg, at the Orange Grove Friends Meeting in Pasadena, California. Marjorie, to whom education was always important, taught kindergarten and first grade until she started a family of her own. She was an eager participant with Richard in setting up the exhibits at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society’s annual show.

Marjorie and Richard, both long-term members of Pima Meeting, were married for 68 years till his death in November of 2013. Marjorie passed away in Tucson on October 15, 2014 at the age of 92. They raised two daughters: Barbara Moos (Stephen) and Carolyn Kerr (William) who survive her. She is survived, as well, by her granddaughter Stephanie Sarvana (Adam) and by her two sisters: Arlyn Uslan (David) and Marcella Merrill (Richard).
