Three Ben Lomond Haiku

Redwood twigsCone on a twig
My first present
Of the day.
So grateful.
Be here now!

Trees standing tall
Growing – even as
We worry.
Sun, rain, roots.
Leave them be.

Redwood tree trunk

Strong core
Gives rise to more.
Even the dying part
Gives the promise
Of life
