Blogging and Friends in the West

The term “blog” is a contraction of web log, and is used to describe websites written and maintained by individuals who are interested in exploring a wide array of topics. The writing on blogs tends to be casual, more like a journal entry than a news article or essay. Bloggers may write about their day, reflect upon something they’ve read recently, respond to a current issue, or posit any number of interesting ideas. Those who read the blog are often invited to share their thoughts in return by leaving a comment at the end of the entry. Best of all, many Western Friends are active bloggers.
